V2500 Reference Core Engine Arrives in Wuxi; AeroVolt-30V Enters Engineering Implementation
Aeroderivative conversion moves from concept validation to engineering verification

WUXI, China, 7 August 2026 — The V2500 reference core engine for Huatian Gas Turbine’s AeroVolt-30V programme has arrived at the company’s Wuxi facility, moving the project from concept validation into engineering implementation.
AeroVolt-30V is being developed into a 25 MW-class aeroderivative gas turbine generator set for continuous-duty power, including AI data centre infrastructure. Simple-cycle efficiency is approximately 37 percent (LHV), with dry low emission combustion on natural gas and direct drive to a 3,600 rpm synchronous generator — no reduction gearbox, removing a maintenance item, a lubrication circuit, an efficiency loss and a failure mode from the package.

The conversion retains the high-pressure core as the gas generator and redesigns the low-pressure power section for continuous ground duty. Across Huatian’s aeroderivative platforms the work divides into four quadrants — remove 25 percent, keep 45 percent, modify 20 percent, add 10 percent. The 10 percent added is the proprietary engineering; the 45 percent retained is decades of aviation service data no new-build programme can reproduce on a comparable timescale.
Engineering scope addresses aerodynamic matching between the retained core and the redesigned power turbine, shaft system integration and rotordynamics, vibration control, thermal management, and system-level reliability. Huatian is responsible for the overall technical solution, core component development, integrated system design, package assembly, and functional testing.

Next milestones follow a defined sequence: engine modification, system integration, first start-up, load testing, and emissions validation, targeting first-unit shipment in Q2 2027. Emissions compliance has been a core design input from the outset rather than a retrofit.
