WUXI, China — Huatian Gas Turbine has published the current status of its HGT-2 2 MW class industrial gas turbine.

The HGT-2 test bed — designed and built in house, and Jiangsu Province’s first self-integrated long-duration platform for small industrial gas turbines — applied 2 mm aerodynamic probes rated to 1,000 °C, thermometry continuous to 1,800 °C, combustion thermo-acoustic monitoring, thermal-paint blade surface mapping, online surge and stall prediction, and equivalent-operating-hours life assessment.
Key hardware: a two-stage titanium centrifugal compressor at pressure ratio 9.6 and adiabatic efficiency 0.81; a 160 kg three-stage axial turbine in nickel-based superalloy with hollow internally cooled first-stage blades; a 130 kg single can combustor removable for inspection without disassembling the engine, which also opens a borescope path into the turbine; and a fully self-developed control system on a triple-modular-redundant fault-tolerant PLC with independent intellectual property rights.
Packaged for distributed duty the unit delivers 2 MW on pipeline gas with NOx ≤25 ppm, a 35,000-hour maintenance interval, target annual operation above 8,000 hours, and waste heat driving absorption cooling to a PUE target of 1.2 or below.
