RB211-24G Hot Section Overhaul

Hot-section inspection and coating restoration following prolonged high-load operation

At 25,000 operating hours, the RB211-24G was disassembled and inspected to determine component condition and define the repair scope. Inspection found varying degrees of thermal-barrier-coating loss on combustor flame tubes and first-stage turbine rotor and stator blades after prolonged high-load operation. The affected coatings were removed and reapplied, and the components were inspected against the approved criteria for the next maintenance interval.
